Summer 2009

Okay Okay I know it's it been ages since I've posted. But here we are at the end of quite a summer. I can't believe it already halfway through September.

Big events for the Boatman's Summer 2009...

Puppies. Lucy had her puppies at the beginning of June. They are long gone to their new homes. I do miss them but am enjoying the peace and quiet. And I no longer have to watch them like a hawk to prevent "puppy presents" as my mom calls them. Lucy is loving life without the responsibility...Footloose and Fancy Free. She is back to her hyper annoying self and I love it.

Proud Momma Lucy

Hiccups
Spook
Charlie
Also this summer BJ has been traveling all over Arizona and Montana fighting forest fires. His company has a contract with the BLM to assist in fire supression. The first half of summer he was based out of Wickenburg, AZ fighting fires all over the state. I was able to visit him in a few places he went to.....
Lake Havasu
A small fire in Parker brought BJ to western AZ. I drove over and spent the weekend with him. On his day off we drove up to Lake Havasu City 30 Minutes north of Parker and played in the lake.
MONTANA
The last half of summer they were stationed in Lewistown, MT. There he went all over Montana and got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather.
Coming in for a landing
Pilot BJ and Mechanic Taylor

Lake Powell

After his first 12-day stretch there his family surprised me by flying him down for our family trip to Lake Powell. It was a wonderful surprise.

Lewistown, MT

I then had the chance to visit him in MT. I flew up and stayed for a week. Lewistown is an adorable small town. I did a lot of walking up and down Main Street. While I was there BJ got a few days off so we bowled three days in a row and ate at a lot of cool little resturants. We also went hiking in the Judith Mountains just north of town. It was so gorgeous up there with chilly weather and it rained almost everyday I was there.

All in all it was a fun and busy summer. I am so grateful for how everything worked out. After some family trails and personal trails I have such a strong testimony in answered prayers.
BJ came home about a week ago. It's been taking some getting used to but I'm so glad he's home. Though Lucy got kicked back to sleeping outside. She was sure enjoying sleeping on his pillow but doesn't seem to mind being outside at all.
Fall will be awesome. I'm taking a class at EMCC. I plan to go back to school full time soon and major in Music Education. I'm nervous but very excited. BJ was instantly thrown but into the swing of things at work, managing the flight school and doing any and all other jobs around the valley. So we are well and hope you all are too.

Puppies!!!!!!!

Lucy had her babies this week. I was freaking out about the whole deal and was nervous that she wouldn't know what to do and that I'd have to help. But luckily she did it all on her own. Monday night she was being super whining and kept me up off and on til about 3am. Finally after sitting with her and giving her lots of loves she calmed down and I went to bed. When BJ woke up her called me into the bathroom. We had 4 puppies!
One wasn't moving and he was cold so we knew he had been dead for a little while. We took him away and continued to praise Lucy on what an amazing dog she is. The other 3 are doing very well. There's Charlie who is all black with a white stripe on his chest. He's proving to be a chunker and is always eating. The other boy is Spook he is all black and quite the mover. He will be a fun handful once he can lift his body. Our only girl is Jasmine... for now BJ doesn't like the name so we'll see about that... She is a beautiful chocolate brown and a little whiner.
So far is been quite fun. Lucy is doing fantastic. I was really worried about her since she is so young but my fears so far have been unnecessary. She is being such a good mommy and still has all energy she had before she got pregnent.
We still don't know who the dad is. There are a few possiblities. It will be about a month before the puppies will develop the features needed to decide.

All in all we are happy and excited. if you want to come visit them let me know. Or if you are interseted in having one join your family also let me know.

I will post some pics later :)

Big Changes

This weekend a good friend from High School will be moving in with us. Granted it will only be for a short time but I'm still kinda worried. We have NEVER lived with anyone else. It's always been just us. It'll be so weird because I love walking around in whatever I want and I like staying up late playing the piano and singing too loud. So, major cramp in my style.
On the other hand, I'm so excited because Melissa and I used to have so much fun together. It' ll be like the good old days. And her man sounds like a great guy. So I guess we'll see how it goes. I think it's gonna be awesome once I adjust. And I have an uncontrolable desire to help people out, It's just what I do. LOL

Also, I think my puppy might get knocked up before me! She's in heat and keeps sneaking out of the backyard and wondering to the nieghbors, who have a couple small dogs that I think are boys. Plus, she plays with my mother-in-laws dogs all the time and the have a boy, who is actually Lucys uncle. So she might have some crazy mutt puppies or just have her uncles babies... lol

Life is insane and to top it all off fire season is only a month away and BJ will be leaving me :( He will be Flying this summer fighting forest fires like the stud he is. From May to the end of July he"ll be stationed in Wickenberg, though could be dispatch to juat about anywhere in west AZ or New Mexico. Then From August to Sept or possibly October he"ll be up in Montana. I'm still trying to get a hold of this idea. It's a 12 days on 2 days off thing and while in Montana he"ll stay up there on his days off. But I can always go stay up there with him for a few days. It'll be tough but he's so excited for it so I'm trying my best to be supportive.

Count your many Blessings

I'm so blessed. And I usually forget it. I think it's important to sit down and recall all your blessings. Heavenly Father pours out so many blessings and we're all to busy with our crazy selfish lives that we forget to thank Him for these wonderful things.

I'm grateful for...

My fantastic husband, who works VERY hard to provide for me, our future children and my shopping addiction :)

My incredible parents, who taught me the Gospel and showed me that a marriage is all about Love and Communication.

My amazing In Laws, who would do and do do anything for me.

My Sister Heather, who, despite craziness, is still my best friend.

My Brother Spencer, who is growing up too fast but is becoming a wonderful young man.

My Brother Jarod, who is goofy but so down to earth.

My Brother Matthew, who's quiet manner screams that he's just like me.

My Brother William, who is still a baby in my eyes.

YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!!!!!
So I'm driving home today and I'll admit I was blasting along passing everyone like mad. So I look down thinking I must be pushing it and going 10 or more over, NO I'm going 3 UNDER!!!! Can you believe that?!?! I was blazing past everyone and not even going the speed limit!
So I hate these stupid speed cameras for that reason. Everybody is terrified of getting caught speeding so they drive like 90 yr olds. Whatever, go 5 or 6 over and you'll be fine IDIOTS!!!!!!!!
So, I'm totally new to this whole "blog" thing. But seems like everyone is doing it and well... I'm a trend follower, I'll admit :)

I'm not even sure what to talk about...

I don't have kids to gush about

BUT... I do have a fabulous little puppy Lucy that I'm pretty jazzed about:):)

So... yep:) LOL

i guess I'll start by telling a little about myself...

I'm seriously a lunatic.

I probably should see a psychologist.

I've been happily married to the love of my eternity for three and a half years. Mr. Bryan Jeffery Boatman is my one and only :)

BJ and I met ages ago when my family moved into the Deer Valley Ward in 98.

Our story is quite cute!

:)

At a Youth Conference in the summer of 2001 my sweet friend Kaeleigh had a HUGE crush on BJ and asked me to find out how he felt about her. So after hanging out with him for a couple days I was swooned by his total self assurance. I'm not sure why but the fact that he didn't care what anyone thought of him was exactly what I wanted in a man.

Granted I was not quite 14 at this time and he had just turned 18. :)

So on this short 3 day youth camp Kaeleigh had decided she no longed liked BJ and I had to tell him. He was of course crushed as he had just told me that afternoon that he would "date her in a heartbeat" He actually had asked her to his prom a few months prior only to be turned down because she wasn't 16 and couldn't date yet.:(

So with his sweet heart broken I felt that much more attracted to him in this vunerable state. That night was the last at conference and there was a testimony meeting that I noticed BJ had missed. After the large Stakewide meeting we had small personal ward testimony meeting that BJ made it to. After more tears and growth of our testimonies of or Saviors Sacrifice for us BJ offered to walk me back to the girls cabin. On our walk back he pulled me aside and wanted to talk. I mentioned that I was such a silly girl to be crying so much and how I envied him for not crying at all. He told me he had cried that evening after not crying in a very long time. He had gone out into the forest during the large meeting and prayed and cried really feeling the Spirit and planning on really getting himself in to the right shape. I was shocked that he cried and even more that he told me about it having only really gotten to know each other the past few days. After that I thought about him all night. Really making my crush on him stronger and stronger. My dad asked me the next morning which boy I was crushing on now, having crushed on a couple different boys in the 3 days of camp. I told him "I like BJ Boatman dad. I'm gonna marry him" Little did he know!!! lol

So I was totally into him and well honestly he hated me. I called him all the time talking his ear off for hours. Now he admits that he never really listened to what I said, but for some reason didn't shut me down. Now we look back and laugh cause I would call his mom would answer the phone and I'd ask if he was home while he'd ask her to say he was gone, but smiling she'd say "He's right here" and hand over the phone despite his scowls.

After months of my complete obnoxious "stalking" BJ moved up to Provo for school. We didn't talk or see each other til Thanksgiving when I was reminded how much I liked him and he was reminded how much I annoyed him.

Then at Christmas break he visited again. But I had matured a little more and definitely gotten cuter. We did a couple things with our group of friends and he actually enjoyed habging out with me. It wasn't until he returned to Provo that he relized the effect I made on him. He missed me! Not in a "friend" way but more in a I really want to be with her way. We worte each other a letter or two and began emailing. Spring break came around and he moved back home to work for the summer and prepare for his Mission.

at this point we were friends. I had no idea that he liked me. One April sunday before church I was checking me e-mail and recieved a quiz that BJ had sent. It was the usual what's your favorite color, do you untie your shoes before you remove them and so on. Toward the end there was one answer that surprised me quite a bit. "what are you worried about right now? that I'll never have you" Oh my goodness! I almost died. He liked me! And I liked him so we were like a couple!

From there we went to the saturday night youth dances and saw each other in Church and at Mutual. Every now and then we'd do something with each others family. But no "dating since I was only 14. My best friend Meagan went eveywhere with us, kinda like a chaperone. LOL He'd drop me off first then her, we weren't allowed to be in the car alone, our parents were pretty careful with us. Each night we'd hug at the door forever, no kisses yet. But sweet meagan just hung out and waited like a trooper:)

He got his mission call to Seattle, WA. Which happened to be my Favorite place in the world, I'd never been but I loved it because it rained all the time. He was leaving Aug 14th. We savored every moment together knowing it'd have to last for two years.

August came and he left to be the best missionary ever! :)

I then started my Sophmore Year at good ol' Barry Goldwater. We wrote all the time. sending pictures and recorded tapes of us talking about everything. It was amazing because we really got to know EVERYTHING about one another.

Two years later he came home. We dated throughout my Senior year and we married July 2nd 2005.

It's so amazing to look back and see how it all fell into place, how we were just meant to be together:)

Wow! I'm sure longwinded! LOL

Now BJ and I live in Goodyear. He works VERY hard flying helicopters and providing for our little family. I work part-time a Applebees and Part-time with his mom for tax season. We also are slowing starting our own company, an online furniture store. once it's all up running I'll post the site address so you can get some killer deals on beautiful furniture.
